At Brooks Braithwaite (Sussex) Ltd we understand that our clients want to know more about the steps we are taking to help protect the environment and reduce the impact our business has upon it.
SUPPLIES/SUPPLIERS
Where possible we order supplies and use suppliers from our local area helping to cut travelling and boosting the local economy.
We recently swapped our bottle filled water cooler and switched to a mains plumbed system, cutting down on unnecessary plastic and delivery travel. Further more when we send large packages/deliveries we will only use companies where we are given the option to offset the delivery carbon footprint as part of the delivery cost.
ENERGY USE
We operate a policy of ‘switch off’. If an electrical item is not required for a sustained period of time we will ensure that it is switched off until it is needed again.
Our premises are modern in design featuring high levels of insulation with an electrically powered heating and cooling system. Operated on a timer system, these units allow the building to heat/cool at the optimum time saving precious energy by working efficiently and cutting the energy use required by constantly starting/stopping the system.
All our systems are maintained to keep them running optimally ensuring that they only use as much energy as is necessary.
RECYCLING
All paper, cardboard and printer toners are, where possible, recycled for use again. We also ensure that all electronic waste and/or hazardous materials are correctly disposed of.
THE FUTURE
To ensure that we keep doing our bit for the environment, we have to keep coming up with new and challenging ways to help.
Outlined below are the steps we plan to take, over the course of the next few years in order to help.
• Ensure that all paper used in our own policy documentation and wordings is sourced from renewable/managed sources.
